MANILA, Philippines – A spokesperson of the Aeta community in Boracay was shot dead Friday night, authorities said.

Inspector Jofer Caboral of the Special Tourist Police Office identified the victim as 26-year-old Dexter Condez.

Police said Condez was on his way home when a gunman followed him and shot him using a 9mm pistol in Sitio Lugutan, Barangay Manoc Manoc in Malay, Aklan past 8 p.m.

Police said the victim sustained several gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

Authorities have yet to identify the suspect and the motive behind the killing.

But they suspect the dispute between the Aeta community and a resort in Boracay was the reason behind the crime. -- Reports from Jennifer Garcia, ABS-CBN News Iloilo; Noni Basco, dzMM
