Another Air Force plane crashes in Tarlac, 2 killed
MANILA, Philippines (Update 3) - A Philippine Air Force OV-10 Bronco attack aircraft crashed in Crow Valley in Capas, Tarlac Wednesday afternoon, killing 2 Air Force pilots on board.

Air Force spokesman Lt. Col. Gerardo Zamudio identified the fatalities as Capt. Jose Enriquez Leonardo Corpuz and his co-pilot, 1Lt. Apollo Carandang. The crash occurred less than a month after another PAF aircraft, a Nomad bush plane, crashed in Cotabato City, killing 9 people.
"We confirm that an OV-10 plane crashed at 2:40 p.m. today in Crow Valley, Tarlac. Initial reports state that the said aircraft took off at 11:25 in the morning and the aircraft was piloted by 2 PAF officers who were on flight training. The remains of the 2 pilots have already been recovered," Zamudio told ANC. There were no passengers on the plane, he said.
Zamudio said a team from the PAF's 15th Strike Wing has been deployed to retrieve debris from the crash site. He added that as a matter of procedure, all Air Force OV-10s have been grounded pending the result of an investigation to be conducted by the PAF.
Initial reports from Armed Forces spokesman Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner said the 2 PAF officers were conducting aerial gunnery training in Crow Valley when their plane crashed. "Dyan talaga nag-te-training sila e. Aerial gunnery training so...may targets yan tapos titirahin nila," he told reporters.
Maj. Gen Horacio Lapinid, commander of the PAF's 1st Air Division, said the plane came from Clarkfield Pampanga, home of the 1st Air Division in Angeles City. He said the gunnery training was part of the annual Teak Piston training event, which is conducted with members of the United States Air Force.
He said the two pilots were simulating a bombing run when their aircraft nose-dived. "Yung feedback lang sa amin is bumulusok lang daw from recovery...supposed to be nag-re-recover from delivery ng bomb e derederetsong pababa," he said.
Lapinid said no other Philippine or American aircraft was flying during the conduct of the specific training module.
He said the PAF will conduct an immediate investigation as to the cause of the crash. He said he last flew an OV-10 in 2006.
Last January 4, an OV-10 malfunctioned after its landing gear collapsed during a regular maintenance operations flight at the Davao City airport. No was killed or injured in the incident.
The latest crash leaves the Air Force with only 2 OV-10 planes, which are used for bomb and rocket attacks to military enemies.

Puro bulok ang eroplano ng PAF my job here in America is aircraft mechanic i am retired U.S.Navy (aircraft mechanic). Ang rule of maintenance ng isang eroplano ay dapat sundin hindi puwede yun bahala na kasi walang pondo.... ninakaw na ni Sir..lahat ng piyesa/parts ng eroplano ay 'time item' ibig sabihin pag oras ng palitan..palitan na hindi puwede ang baka-puwede pang gamitin kaya luma-lagpak ang mga eroplano ng PAF nakaka-awa naman ang mga pilipinong piloto mahuhusay pa naman.
AFP MODERNIZATION?
Whatever happened to the modernization plans of our AFP? I mean, where is the "supposedly" "Budget" for our poor military? No wonder our good soldiers would rather join a coup or go elsewhere because of our poor condition. These people are willing to sacrifice their lives just to protect our country. It is evident that our soldiers have less equipment and gear to protect themselves. Instead of talking you PIG POLITICIANS should look at the country! I would'nt wonder if someday... even EAST TIMOR would overtake our military capability... You people never learned!!! Bakit ganun wala naman kalaban bumabagsak ang ating mga Air Force Plane hahaha! Paano na kaya kung mayroon pa silang kalaban, e di yari na ang bansang pinas, patay kang pilipino ka..marahil hindi lang talaga mahilig sa giyera ang ating mga heneral, mahilig lang sila sa golf course, pasyal at biyahe abroad.

kawawa naman ang airforce natin (PAF) esp ang mga pilot natin. masyado ng luma ang mga aircraft nila. ang gagaling ng mga piloto natin kaya nga sila pinagaagawan ng mga commercial airlines. pero what's the use of being a good pilot kung luma naman ang mga aircraft na pinalilipad nila. during the 1950 to 1960's we're the # 1 airforce in southeast asia in terms of aircraft inventory & capabilities, and we're capable of outside threat. pero ngayon naglaho ng lahat un ng dahil sa corruption, tayo na ngayon ang pinaka-kulelat na airforce sa buong SEA or even in Asia. tayo lang sa SEA ang walang supersonic fighter jet. ang mga fighter aircraft ng PAF ay mga orginally training aircraft lang pero mino-modify para maging fighter, like the SF 260 & S211. Ang bukod tanging fighter jet lang natin ay yun F5 pero nagretiro na rin lahat yun dahil sa sobrang kalumaan.
Kahiya-hiya na po ang kalagyan ng ating airforce, daig pa tayo ng Bangladesh, di hamak na mas mahirap pa yun sa bansa natin pero mas advance ang airforce nila.
Sana sa susunod na presidente ng ating bayan ay mabigyan na ng pansin ang modernization ng ating AFP. panahon pa ni Ramos ang AFP Modernization pero puros lang drawing at miniatures yun mga aircrafts at battle ships na nabili nila.

dapat meron ng mag-initiate to account the proceeds sa pinagbentahan ng mga prime military assets like the portion of fort bonifacio dahil ang sabi noon kaya eto ibebenta para sa upgrading ng AFP equipment.. mga taga-COA kumilos naman kayo dapat malaman na ng taong bayan kung saan napunta ang pera. maawa na kayo sa mga Air force, navy at army natin namamatay lang na walang kalalaban laban dahil mga bulok na ang kagamitan...

investigation right away? and then after the investigation ano? pagtatakpan na lamang at walang mangyayari sa findings. sa kabila ng maraming buhay na ibinuwin ng mga piloto ng air force, may positive improvements na bang nangyari? WALA! AFP ay MAFIA ng mga heneral na walang ginawa kungdi magpayaman kasabay ng pagkukunwari ng pagmamahal sa bayan. Mga heneral na balimbing sa mga pangulong gumagamit sa kanila. kahit anumang laki ng amount for AFP modernization program, sa bulsa lamang ng mga ganid na HENERAL, from generation to generation. Kung meron may malinis na heneral, sila'y mga taong pinagkakaitan ng mga magagandang opportunity...Sus, kawawa talaga ang Pilipinas sa mga taong ito!
