Sick husband commits suicide after killing pregnant wife
MANILA, Philippines - An unemployed man with a cyst in his gallbladder committed suicide after shooting dead his pregnant wife in Consolacion town, Cebu province, police said Friday.
Police identified the suspect as Iti de Vera of Barangay Tayud, Consolacion town.
Investigators said De Vera killed his 2-month pregnant wife, Shiela, with a .45 pistol inside their home. The suspect escaped, but later committed suicide in a nearby barangay.
Police said the couple had been fighting over Shiela's insurance from the Social Security System (SSS).
Police added that according to the victim's sibling, De Vera wanted his wife to allow him to use her insurance money for his gallbladder operation.
Investigators said the suspect could have killed his wife, and then committed suicide out of desperation. -- Report from ABS-CBN Cebu

Sana naman ang isipin ng gobyerno natin ay kung papaano matutulungan ang mga mahihirap in case of hospitalization..The government priority should be "Health Care"..Too many corrupt politics sa Pilipinas, imbis na pagpapayaman ng bansa ang inisip ng ibang politico dyan ang iniisip nila ay pagpapayaman sa sarili nila....That's why they all want to join the politics....

Alam ko kung magkano ang nagagastos ng isang pasyente dyan sa Pilipinas, kasi ang tatay ko na hospital dyan and na operahan sa aneurysm and cost me too much money...Just imagine yung mga taong walang pang opera o walang pang hospital magiging KAWAWA talaga...PLEASE, PLEASE sa Gobyerno do something, tulungang nyo ang mga taong walang pera na gagastuhin sa pang hospital nila.

Pati ba naman pag wala sa tamang katinuan ang tao at hindi nakagawa ng mbuti eh isisi sa gobyerno? Nasulat ba sa report kung ngpunta na sila sa DSWD at tinanggihan sila?
Sick husband nga eh, kaya wala tau masisi dyan.It happens out of desperation. Maybe it's time for us to care for people around us,and pray for Change in Men.

This is a very very sad story... An incident that could be prevented if our government has some type of social services for poor people or where poor people can check in into the hospital without worrying about downpayment prior to admission. What happen to our compassion and let's save the life first?
