3 barangay officials hurt in Batangas ambush

MANILA, Philippines – Three barangay officials were hurt in an ambush in Nasugbu, Batangas.
The three officials were identified as Brgy. Papaya chairman Marlon Limbog, Brgy. Butukan chairman Magno Capasis and barangay councilor Maria Soccoro Yumong.
According to initial reports, they were riding an L-200 pick-up when they were shot by a riding-in-tandem at the J.P. Laurel street in Barangay Nueve.
Yumong’s niece, identified as Priscilla Buenavides, was also hurt in the shooting.
The victims were brought to the De La Salle Hospital in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Meanwhile, police are still investigating the motives behind the shooting and pursuing the suspects. -- Report from Arnell Ozaeta, DZMM.
