AFP says three abducted Zambo tutors held by MILF commander

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Armed Forces’ Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom) confirmed Tuesday, that a sub=commander of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Basilan is holding the abducted three Zamboangueño teachers.
1st Lt. Steffani Cacho, WestMinCom spokesperson, in an interview said that the three abducted teachers, Janette Delos Reyes, Freires Quizon and Raphael Mayonado are now in the hands of a certain Mulong Pula alias Kumander Pula of the MILF.
Cacho admitted however that the military is still verifying if Pula is operating alone or he is just working for a senior commander.
A military intelligence information said the group of Kumander Pula and the three teachers were seen in the hinterlands of Tuburan town.
Earlier the MILF announced that they are willing to help the government in recovering kidnap victims in Basilan.
The military has however also challenged the MILF to also check the activities of their members in this part of Mindanao.
MILF spokesperson Eid Kabalu, in a text message however, said that Kumander Pula is a member of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) and is not with the MILF.
Meanwhile, the military also confirmed that the abducted Sri Lankan peace worker, Umar Jaleel, is still in the hands of ASG sub-commander Puruji Indama.
