MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday said it has arrested seven members of a kidnap-for-ransom group in Antipolo, Rizal.
A source from the NBI Anti-Organized Crime Division said the seven suspects, some of whom were allegedly former soldiers, were arrested after the bureau received a tip that the group is out to abduct a Chinese national.
The NBI division has refused to reveal the names of the suspects, as a follow-up operation is still being conducted.
The suspects are set to undergo inquest proceedings. – report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
