MNLF chair hurt in road mishap

DATU ANGGAL MIDTIMBANG, MAGUINDANAO -- One person died and three others were wounded in a 3-vehicle collision in Sitio Kiteb, Barangay Mapayag, Datu Anggal Midtimbang town in Maguindanao on Friday.

Authorities said a 10-wheeler truck collided with a Toyota Fortuner and a D4D van along the Gensan-Cotabato national highway.

The fatality was identified as Bondon Ampatuan, nephew of Maguindanao 1st District Rep. Bai Sandra Sema.

Among those wounded was Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) chairman and former Cotabato City Mayor Muslimin Sema, husband of Rep. Sema.

The other injured passengers were identified as Nhords Dimasangkay and Samad Tasil.

According to Datu Anggal Police Chief Inspector Jun Olis, the convoy of Sema was on its way back to Cotabato City while the 10-wheeler truck filled with copra was going to Tacurong City when they collided.

"Sa may kurbada, nahagip nung trak ang van kung saan nakasakay si Sema, nabangga naman nung Fortuner ang van... Napuruhan yung likuran ng van kung saan nakaupo yung namatay," Olis said.

The wounded victims, including Sema, were brought to Davao City via chopper for treatment.
