'Negros River Cruise tops Bohol's Loboc'
The Himoga-an River Cruise is one of the major tourist attractions of Sagay City in Negros Occidental this summer.
The two-hour boat ride offers tourists a chance to commune with nature while being entertained by a live string band. Visitors will also be treated with a gastronomic feast as they sample the city's delicacies.
Sagay Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva said the Himogaan River Cruise has a lot to offer compared to famous floating restaurants in Bohol's Loboc River. Aside from generating income for the community, the river cruise promotes environmental awareness.
"We have a longer river. Wider. And we have different landscapes along the way. We're full of sugarcanes and coconut trees. We'll see mangroves," said Cueva.
"Awareness sa mga communities nga we have a beautiful river. It's high time for everyone of us to help preserve it. So, environmental preservation," Helen Cutillar, Sagay City Information Officer said.
According to the Sagay City official website, the Himoga-an River is the largest and longest among the five rivers in Sagay, with an average width of 90 meters and a length of about 60 kilometers.
With its lush greenery and breath-taking scenery, the Himoga-an River Cruise should be on everyone's list of top destinations this summer.
