Crocodile kills 12-year-old-girl in Agusan
A saltwater crocodile, estimated to be about 30 feet long, attacked and killed a 12-year-old girl in Agusan del Sur, a report said.
The victim, identified as Rowena Romano, was attacked by a crocodile along Bunawan area near Loreto in Agusan del Sur at about 6 p.m. Friday last week.
Romano had been riding one of two bancas carrying a member of the Save Mindanao Volunteers identified as Victor Malasaga, a guardian, and another student.
The group was on its way back to school in Lake Mihaba after getting food supplies from their houses when the attack happened.
Save Mindanao Volunteers Executive Director Ruel Hipulan said the volunteers are asking the residents to evacuate the area since the crocodile is still there.
Hipulan said he is coordinating with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to look for an expert who can capture the crocodile. Trinidad L. Velasco, ABS-CBN News Caraga
