A tornado destroyed several houses ang properties in two villages in Tupi, South Cotabato on Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses said the tornado lasted for three minutes and was accompanied by strong winds and a hail storm.

Reports said the tornado also knocked down trees that blocked the roads and destroyed plants which were ready for harvest.

The affected villages are still without power after a toppled tree landed on an electric post.

The Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council is expected to release a report on the tornado to determine the number of affected families and the estimate of damages it caused. With reports from Anne Santos, ABS-CBN
