MANILA, Philippines - Fire gutted 6 houses in Baliwasan village in Zamboanga City Tuesday afternoon, injuring one resident.

Fire Inspector James Blando of the Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire could have started at the house of a certain Adelaida Calumpong.

Calumpong said she had been burning garbage outside their house and then took a nap. She was then awakened when she saw fire engulfing her home.

Blando, however, said faulty wiring might also have started the fire.

An estimated P100,000 worth of property were destroyed in the blaze.
