MANILA, Philippines - At least 30 supporters of Roberto Pagdanganan picketed the Supreme Court Wednesday morning over the high tribunal's issuance of a status quo order, preventing Pagdanganan from sitting as governor of Bulacan.

The protesters asked the Supreme Court to reverse its ruling and allow Pagdanganan to sit as governor as ruled by the Commission on Elections.

Initial reports said most of those who attended the protest rally were women and childen.

There were no visible signs of beefed up security at the Supreme Court although the main gate remains closed.

The rally is just one of two protests expected at the Supreme Court -- the other being over the scheduled en banc session where High Court magistrates are expected to vote on whether President Arroyo is allowed to appoint the next Chief Justice despite a midnight appointments ban.
