Two soldiers were killed in a clash with unidentified armed men in Lanao del Norte Tuesday.

104th Brigade Commander Col. Benito de Leon said that the soldiers had been conducting a routine patrol to secure the area when they encountered unidentified armed men in Barangay Sandor, Balo-i, Lanao. Military reports said the armed men threatened the residents who were passing by the mountainous area.

He refused to disclose the soldier's names, however, until their families have been informed.
