SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA – "Na-tsek nyo na ba mga kahon delivery sa Jomafer Boom?"

This was the text message received by a lawyer at the Pampanga Regional Trial Court Branch (RTC) 42 on Tuesday, the second time that the court handling the syndicated estafa case of property developer Delfin Lee received a bomb threat.

"Nakuha natin number, pero hindi natin ma-trace kasi ang actual location, general location lang. Not unless meron may magbigay talaga ng info kung sino nagtext nun," said Senior Supt. Oscar Albayalde, Pampanga provincial director.

According to Albayalde, a woman lawyer received the text message around 11 a.m. Police inspected the entire building and declared the area safe at 1 p.m.

"Tantamount to terrorism kasi iyan, nagca-cause ng fear and panic. Kaya tinaas na rin penalty para diyan eh," Albayalde added.

The lawyer who received the text message and the executive judge, who were in the building at the time of the threat, declined to give any statements.

Vendors around the area, meanwhile, said they were no longer surprised by the threat.

"Parang nasanay na kami," said Boy, a vendor in the area. Just last week, the RTC Branch 42 also received a bomb threat.

Security has been tightened, said Albayalde, adding that they are planning to deploy K9 or bomb-sniffing dogs to secure the area.

Police, however, have yet to establish any connection between the two bomb threats and the case of of Lee.

Aside from the RTC, a private school in Masantol town, also in Pampanga, received a bomb threat last week.

The PNP has warned those behind the threats that they will face charges. - report from Nevi Calma, ABS-CBN News Pampanga
