MANILA – Three people died and two others were injured after a fire hit a lodging house in Kapatagan town, Lanao del Norte on Wednesday.
Fire officials said a lodging house in Barangay Poblacion in Kapatagan town was hit by fire at around 10 p.m., killing 3 guests.
The victims could not be immediately identified because their bodies were found completely charred at the second floor.
Lodging house owners Rolando and Ester Mocoro, meanwhile, sustained minor burns.
The fire, which reached the Task Force Alpha alarm, was declared out at 11:30 p.m.
Fire investigators suspect that the blaze was caused by an unattended candle. It was reported that the area suffered from brownout when the fire erupted.
The cost of damage from the fire was estimated at P6 million. A portion of a house adjacent to the lodging house was also hit by fire. – report from Ronnie Enderes, ABS-CBN
