KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato - The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) believes it will deliver a knockout against the administration Team PNoy in General Santos City, especially after the People’s Champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao endorses them tomorrow.

With Pacquiao attending the UNA rally, the group believes it will throw an uppercut punch on the administration party, which they claim had a poorly attended rally two weeks ago.

UNA senatorial candidate Nancy Binay said Pacquiao's endorsement would be a big boost to their campaign.

"Si Congresmman Manny Pacquiao ay incumbent sa Sarangani tapos wala pa syang kalaban so magiging concentrated siya sa pagkampanya sa UNA sa kanyang probinsiya,” she said.

Fellow UNA candidate Mitos Magsaysay said Pacquiao's endorsement powers go beyond his hometown.

"Ang influence ni Pacquiao pang buong Pilipinas and once they see Pacquiao, whom they idolize, sa tingin ko malaking bagay sa amin yun,” she said.

She said Pacquiao is more at ease with UNA because of the party's platform and programs for the poor.

"Si Manny mas komportable sa UNA kasi nakita nya na mas malapit sa masang pilipino at hindi nagpapanggap na mahal ang masa,” she said.

General Santos City is listed as the 15th most populous city in the Philippines with a population of over 530,000 as of 2010 and a voting population of almost 400,000 as of the same year.

UNA senatorial bets led by Nancy Binay, Tingting Cojuangco, JV Ejercito, Jack Enrile, Richard Gordon, Gregorio Honasan, Ernesto Maceda, Mitos Magsaysay and Juan Miguel Zubiri will embark on a campaign motorcade starting early Saturday in GenSan to personally reach out to supporters.

UNA bets vowed to give priority to the power shortage problem. They also promised to help strengthen the province's agriculture and food security.

Early Friday, UNA senatoriables went on a campaign trail in Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato, minus the "Three Kings" or the three leaders of UNA namely former President Joseph Estrada, Vice-President Jejomar Binay and Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile.

The campaign trail is part of the second leg of their Mindanao sorties, which also includes Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Davao City and Davao Del Sur.

The candidates of UNA went on an early morning campaign in Tacurong and Isulan, Sultan Kudarat where they had a political rally together with the local officials led by Gov. Suharto "Teng" Mangudadatu of Sultan Kudarat at the Provincial Capitol grounds and at the headquarters of UNA in Tacurong.
