A grand celebration marked the first-ever banana festival in Panabo City in Davao del Norte.

The festival featured a street dance parade and cooking contest.

Participants who joined the street dance parade were dressed in their banana costumes.

Those who participated in the cooking contest cooked up mouth-watering banana recipes like banana con tahong, banana burger and lumpiang puso ng saging.

The local government launched the festival as it aims to be called the "Banana Capital" of the country.

Banana is the primary product of Panabo City and the produce from the city is being exported.
