Four killed, six injured in construction accident in Cebu

Four are confirmed dead and six injured after a beam collapsed in a warehouse structure under construction in Balamban town in Cebu province Saturday.


Initial investigation by the Balamban police station said that around 3 p.m. the construction workers fell 60 feet after the collapse of the beam.


Declared dead on arrival at the Balamban District Hospital were Israel Torcullas, 39; Celedonio de Vera, 46; Romeo Dindin and Arthur Subingbing, 46.


The six injured were transported to Velez hospital in Cebu City.


The workers reportedly suffered fractures in the head and in their heads.


The warehouse structure that is being constructed is owned by Tsuneishi Heavy Industry Cebu, Inc., a shipbuilding company.


Construction work was temporarily halted pending the result of an investigation into the incident Vera Leigh Lasam, ABS-CBN Regional Network Group
