3 nabbed in Pangasinan, Laguna drug busts
MANILA, Philippines – Anti-narcotics agents arrested three people in separate drug-bust operations in Rosales, Pangasinan and Pila in Laguna last Wednesday.
Undersecretary Jose Gutierrez Jr., head of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), identified the suspects as Mary Grace Cantera, 40 years old, of Tomana West, Rosales, Pangasinan; Ronald Allan Fernando, 33; and his cohort, Maximo Malvar III, 39, both residents of Los Baños, Laguna.
Cantera was nabbed during a buy-bust operation in Tomana West, Rosales, Pangasinan after she sold one plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer.
Also recovered from her were assorted drug paraphernalia, two weighing scales, an improvised .22 caliber pistol with live ammunition, and a hand grenade.
Meanwhile, Fernando and Malvar were apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Labuin, Pila. Authorities recovered from the suspects three plastic sachets of shabu with an approximate weight of five grams.
The three suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
