CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY--Two persons were killed in separate but consecutive motorcycle accidents along Masterson Avenue in Cagayan de Oro City on Sunday evening.

The victims were identified by police as Gina Nudalo and Mark Pescadero, both of whom were reportedly killed after the respective motorcycles they were riding slammed into other vehicles.

Nudalo was reportedly on board a motorcycle driven by her husband Orlando, when a car attempting to overtake a tricycle on the opposite lane slammed into them at about 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Nudalo was pronounced dead on arrival at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center. Orlando, meanwhile, sustained fractures to his leg, hands and face.

The car's driver, Rogelio Vicente, is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide, serious physical injuries as well as damages to property.

About an hour later on the same road, Pescadero was killed when his motorcycle was reportedly hit by a pick-up truck driven by Raymond John Camarinta.

Melchor Pescadero, the victim's father, said he wants the suspect to undergo a drug or alcohol test to prove whether he was drugged or intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Camarinta's lawyer, however, refused to grant an interview while his client is temporarily detained at the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA).

Meanwhile, both suspects' vehicles were reportedly impounded at the RTA for further investigation. Reports from TRINI L. VELASCO, ABS-CBN Caraga; and ROD BOLIVAR and MARCIEL BUTARDO, ABS-CBN Northern Mindanao.
