Two cousins arrested in Pangasinan drug bust
MANILA, Philippines – Two cousins who are alleged members of a local drug group in Pangasinan were arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 1 in two consecutive operations Sunday.
According to the report of PDEA Regional Office 1 Director Edgar Apalla, suspects Jason Espelita, alias Tsu Tseng, and Jeralyn Espelita, alias Babe, were arrested in Barangay Palina East, Urdaneta City after selling one plastic sachet of what is suspected to be shabu to a PDEA agent.
"Tsu Tseng" and "Babe" are said to be members of the Espelita Drug Group, a family-run business that is responsible for selling shabu in Eastern Pangasinan, especially in Urdaneta City.
The two Espelita cousins are currently imprisoned at the PDEA Regional Office 1. They face charges for violating Section 5 or Selling of Dangerous Drugs of Article2 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002). Report from Dennis Datu, dzmm.
