Davao's No. 1 drug offender falls
MANILA, Philippines – Anti-narcotics agents apprehended Davao’s most wanted drug offender who has been in hiding for the past four years.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jason Taladua Buhisan alias “Echang.”
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac said Buhisan was arrested in Barangay 76-A, Davao last Wednesday.
Buhisan's arrest was made on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 9, Davao City dated November 19, 2008, for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He is temporarily detained at DCPO-Investigation and Detection Management Branch Jail Facility in Davao City.
Drug syndicate head busted in Cagayan
Meanwhile, PDEA agents also arrested a suspected drug ring leader in Cagayan.
Lirio Alias, 45, was suspected as the leader of Madam L syndicate which operates in the 1st District of Cagayan and nearby municipalities.
Alias was nabbed during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Minanga, Aparri.
