Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have arrested a woman for pocketing more than P3 million in placement fees for non-existent jobs in London.

Generoso Matulac, chief of the NBI office in Southern Tagalog, said agents arrested Josephine Cruz from her home along Sta. Cruz Street, Tanza town in Cavite province.

Matulac said Cruz's arrest was based on a warrant issued by Judge Aurelio Casiano of Imus, Cavite Regional Trial Court Branch 23. Cruz is facing charges of large scale illegal recruitment.

The NBI officer said Cruz took more than P3 million from caregiver applicants to London. He said the suspect used her sisters' placement agency called Nation Manpower Corp. With a report from Arnel Ozaeta, ABS-CBN Southern Tagalog
