5.1-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Oriental

MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck off Davao Oriental past noon Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the earthquake was recorded at 12:34 p.m. Its epicenter was located 150 kilometers northeast of Tarragona town.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 34 kilometers.
No damage was reported due to the quake, but aftershocks are expected.
A magnitude 4.9 earthquake also occurred off the province before dawn Wednesday.
The earthquake occurred 111 kilometers northeast of Baganga town at 3:59 a.m.
