MANILA, Philippines – A grenade explosion damaged a home in Barangay Calayab, Laoag City on Wednesday, police said.

Homeowner Imelda Tolentino was slightly wounded in the incident.

Police said the grenade was hurled by a certain Hubert Padilla after an argument with Tolentino’s nephew Warly Gajoltos outside their house.

Padilla accused Gajoltos of having a relationship with his wife Nona, which Gajoltos denied.

Padilla allegedly pulled out a grenade from his pocket, prompting Gajoltos to run back inside the house.

The suspect then threw the grenade towards the house before escaping.

Several furniture and windows were damaged because of the blast.

Gajoltos has been employed as Padilla’s driver for almost two weeks.

He is mulling over the possibility of filing charges against Padilla. -- Report from Randy Menor, ABS-CBN News Ilocos
