CEBU CITY - A Facebook post of a father went viral after he posted photos of his newborn baby whose lips were sealed with tape while inside a nursery room at a private hospital in Cebu City.

According to Ryan Noval, his wife discovered that a nurse taped his newborn son's lips when she visited him at the nursery last Friday.

"My son cannot speak about this horrific experience from the attending nurse's hands so we have to speak out for him," Noval posted on his Facebook page.

This photo of a seven-day-old baby boy whose mouth was covered with tape allegedly by a nurse went viral after it was posted on Facebook. Photo by Facebook user Rye Kido.

Noval said the nurse told his wife that she had to tape the baby's mouth because the latter was crying non-stop and was already creating too much noise.

Noval said when his wife asked the nurse to remove the tape, the latter allegedly replied, ''You can go ahead and take it yourself ma'am."

Noval and his wife immediately filed a complaint against the nurse. They are still waiting for the result of an investigation.

ABS-CBN News tried to get the side of the hospital but was told the investigation was still ongoing and the head nurse was on her day off.
