BUTUAN CITY, Philippines - A 4.9 magnitude quake struck the cities of Butuan and Cagayan de Oro, Thursday morning.
 
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs)-Surigao said the tremor happened at 10:11 a.m.

The quake was traced 36 kilometers off Butuan City.
 
The quake was felt at Intensity 4 in Butuan and Surigao cities, while intensity 3 was experienced in Malasag and Corrales in Cagayan de Oro City.
 
There were no damages or aftershocks recorded.
