MANILA, Philippines – Twenty-two Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairmen were rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning in Palawan after complaining of severe stomach ache.
Doctors at the Palawan Adventist Hospital in Puerto Princesa City said the SK chairmen may have suffered from apparent food poisoning from the food they ate the night before.
The chairmen started complaining of stomach ache Monday evening and were rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning after the pain intensified.
The hospital declined to release the names of the chairmen, who were among the participants of the SK Luzon Island Congress.
Fourteen of the affected chairmen were from Parañaque; 7 from Malolos, Bulacan; and one from Marikina City.
Doctors have yet to determine what caused the severe stomach ache. – report from Romy Luzares, dzMM
