TACLOBAN CITY - The city government is set to convert the Kanhuraw Convention Center into a one-stop-shop business center. Along with the conversion, Mayor Alfred Romualdez is pushing for computerization of its operations.

“This will fast-track business transactions in the city hall,” said Romualdez.

The city mayor added that as part of the conversion plan, the city government will transfer some of its offices like the City Assessors Office and City Treasurer’s Office. With this, all the bills, payments, and other transactions related to the renewal of and application for business permits will be done at the proposed one-stop-shop.

The putting up of a one-stop-shop business center is reportedly in anticipation of an influx of business establishments to the city.

“Everyone is excited about the opening of Robinsons Mall on June 11. Along with this we are expecting hundreds of business establishments to open in the city,” Romualdez disclosed.

He stressed that the one-stop-shop, with its streamlined and systematic operations, will lessen the time it takes for new investors to apply for permits to do business in the city.

“This is our way of helping the investors. With this we can create a business-friendly image for the city. Actually, I’m planning to put my office there so I can personally assist the investors,” Romualdez noted.
