Lightning kills teenager, hurts another in Batangas

A 17-year-old boy was killed while his co-worker was hurt when they were hit by a lightning in Talisay town in Batangas province, Wednesday night.
Senior Inspector Ferdinand Ancheta, Talisay police chief, identified the fatality as Michael Cantelejo, a fish cage caretaker and resident of Zone 1, Barangay Poblacion in Talisay town.
Initial reports said the two victims were busy tending fish cages in Taal Lake when the lightning struck near them around 6:30 pm.
Ancheta said Cantelejo died on the spot and the other victim, Leo Argones, 25, suffered minor burns and lost consciousness after being the lightning struck near them.
Argones was confined at the St. Andrew’s Hospital.
