Male teacher shot dead in Quezon town

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna - A 50-year-old male public school teacher was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen in Buenavista town, Quezon Thursday, police said.
Senior Superintendent Elmo Francis Sarona, Quezon police director, identified the victim as Adventor Alfuerto, teacher-in-charge of Batabat Elementary School.
Police said Alfuerto was inside his house in Barangay Poblacion when two gunmen barged into his house and shot the victim at close range.
Alfuerto died on the spot while the assailants escaped towards a forested area at the back of the nearby Buenavista Central Elementary School.
Probers said a child abuse case filed against Alfuerto several years ago might be linked to the shooting.
