Magnitude 4.9 quake hits Dinagat Islands

MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 4.9 earthquake hit Dinagat Islands on Wednesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the earthquake was recorded at 5:59 a.m. Its epicenter was located 6 kilometers northeast of Dinagat town.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 198 kilometers.
No intensity was felt in any part of the province. Likewise, no damage was reported.
Phivolcs said aftershocks are not expected from the earthquake.
