BATANGAS - A 68-year old grandmother died when her own cow in Cuenca town gored her Wednesday morning, police said.

Chief Inspector Jose Coz of Cuenca police station identified the victim as Florencia Briones, a resident of Sitio Adan in Barangay Labac in Cuenca.

According to a report, Briones was about to tend her cow in a grass field when it suddenly went wild and gored the victim and severely injuring her.

Briones reportedly sustained a deep puncture wound on her neck and different parts of her body. She was found sprawled bloodied by her son at the field.

She was reportedly rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead upon arrival by doctors at the emergency room.

“Posibleng naging mabagsik ang baka kasi kapapanganak lang ng isang bisiro nito ilang linggo pa lamang ang nakakalipas, kaya siguro sinuwag si Nanay,” Briones’ son narrated

Briones’s family decided to sell the cow to lessen the pain they were experiencing on the tragic death of their mother.
