MANILA - A tropical cyclone may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Sunday evening or Monday morning, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

Speaking to radio dzMM on Saturday, PAGASA weather forecaster Glaiza Escullar said the cyclone was last spotted 2,080 kilometers east of southern Luzon.

Once it enters PAR, it will go by the name "Glenda."

"Inaasahan pong nasa loob po ito ng PH Area of Responsibility buong linggo next week," Escullar said.

She said the new weather disturbance will likely take the same path as "Florita" (international name Neoguri).

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is currently affecting Mindanao.

Palawan and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms, PAGASA said.
