MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) - Typhoon "Huaning" is now out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), state weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday morning.

Storm signal number 1 has already been lifted over the Batanes Group of Islands.

In its 11 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Huaning (international name: Soulik) has slightly weakened after it made landfall over Taiwan.

The typhoon was last spotted 450 kilometers north of Itbayat, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

Huaning continues to move at 20 kph on a west northwest direction towards Southern China.

PAGASA warned, however, that even if Huaning has already left PAR, it will still enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat) and bring rains over the country.

"Kaya naman, inaasahan na ang buong bansa ay magiging maulap na may mahina hanggang katamtamang pag-ulan at pagkidlat-pagkulog," weather forecaster Joey Figuracion told radio dzMM.

Fishermen are advised not to venture out into the seaboards of northern and central Luzon due to big waves generated by the typhoon, PAGASA said.
