MANILA, Philippines - The province of Laguna also bore the brunt of typhoon (now storm) Basyang.

The provincial office said at least 14 towns in Laguna experienced floods and uprooted trees, while 1 suffered a casualty.

The death was recorded in Calamba, Laguna.

In San Benito in the municipality of Victoria, the downpour submerged several rice fields that had been planted only 2 weeks ago.

Plants and other crops have also been washed out in several towns in Bay, Laguna.

Provincial officials said relief goods for affected families have already been prepared.
