MANILA, Philippines - A regional trial court judge has ordered the temporary release of 26 people arrested by police during an anti-gambling operation at the house of Manny Pacquiao's sister in General Santos City last Thursday.

General Santos Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Oscar Noel issued a temporary release order after granting the suspects' petition for bail filed by their lawyer, Giovanni Mata.

Police on Thursday raided the house of Pacquiao's sister, Isidra Pacquiao-Paglinawan, and arrested the 26 "ushers."

Chief Inspector Leo Sua, General Santos City police's Intelligence and Detective Management section, said the operatives were supposed to arrest Pacquiao's sister, but she was not in her house at the time of the raid.

Police believe that Pacquiao's sister is an operator of the illegal numbers game "Last 2," which is derived from the more famous numbers game, "jueteng."

The 26 suspects' lawyer said they were planning to file charges against the policemen for alleged unlawful arrest, arbitrary detention and robbery.

Mata said that majority of those arrested by policemen were visitors of Pacquiao's father, Rosaleo Pacquiao, who was celebrating his birthday at the time of the raid.

The older Pacquiao's house is adjacent to his daughter’s residence.
