Binga, Ambuklao dams release water
MANILA, Philippines – The Ambuklao and Binga dams in Benguet have started releasing water on Tuesday due to heavy rains in the past days brought by typhoon “Gener,” state weather bureau PAGASA said.
PAGASA said as of 10 a.m., 4 gates of Ambuklao dam were opened by 4 meters each, while 6 gates were opened by 9 meters each in Binga.
Water level at Ambuklao was at 751.47 meters, which is 0.53 meter below the dam’s spilling level of 752 meters.
On the other hand, water level at Binga dam was at 574.71 meters, or 0.29 meter short its spilling level of 575 meters.
Meanwhile, data showed that water level at Ipo dam in Bulacan and La Mesa dam in Quezon City have started to subside.
PAGASA said Ipo dam’s water level was reduced by 0.49 meter to 100.17 meters, while La Mesa dam’s water level was lowered by 0.14 meter to 79.71 meters.
Spilling levels of Ipo and La Mesa dams are 100.8 meters and 80.15 meters, respectively.
