MARAWI CITY -- Police have rescued a 5-year-old girl from her two-week ordeal after her captors threatened to dismember her.

The victim was rescued from a motor cab in Matampay, Marawi City 2 p.m. on Friday.

Authorities arrested cab drivers Jalal Roco and Joven Saripanda, who denied that they are members of the kidnap-for-ransom group.

The suspects said they were only paid to bring the child to the jeepney terminal where her mother was waiting for her.

The victim's family allegedly paid the kidnappers an undisclosed amount for "board and lodging."

The victim was taken from their house in Iligan City on July 16, 2014. -- report from Roxanne Arevalo, ABS-CBN News Iligan
