MANILA, Philippines – Controversial car dealer Lynard Allan Bigcas, who previously had a few brushes with the law, was once again arrested for illegal possession of firearms and drugs charges.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 10 apprehended Lynard Allan Bigcas past 2 a.m. Saturday along Barangay Macasandig, Cagayan de Oro City.
PDEA -10 Director Roberto Opena said they were on their way back to the office when they almost hit Bigcas’s motorcycle.
When asked for his driver’s license, Bigcas told them that he had to get it from his car, which was parked nearby.
Opena said they then followed him to his car and noticed that Bigcas was trying to hide something in the vehicle.
Authorities said that when they checked the vehicle, they discovered a licensed armalite, but without a permit to carry in public. A further inspection of the vehicle also led authorities to find an estimated P3,000 worth of shabu.
Bigcas voluntarily surrendered to authorities and could possibly face illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Bigcas’s name was implicated in the smuggling of luxury vehicles last year and a shooting incident in Davao City last February.
