Cop indicted in Atimonan shooting goes AWOL
MANILA -- One of the policemen indicted in the Atimonan, Quezon shooting incident has gone AWOL (absent without official leave).
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Supt. Ramon Balauag has failed to report to his assigned unit in Camp Crame where he is under restrictive custody since July 8.
The PNP has formed a team to locate and arrest Balauag.
Balauag is one of the 25 policemen and soldiers facing murder charges over the killing of 13 men along a checkpoint in Atimonan last January 6.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima had said the incident was a rubout based on evidence and testimonies of eyewitnesses. -- ANC
