'Labuyo' threatens Luzon; storm signal up in 11 areas
MANILA - Public storm warning signal number 1 was hoisted in 11 areas in the country on Saturday amid the threat posed by Tropical Storm Labuyo, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
The storm, which has intensified, continues to threaten Northern and Central Luzon.
Labuyo is packing maximum winds of 105 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of 135 kph.
It was last spotted 450 km east of Virac, Catanduanes and is moving west-northwest at 19 kph.

The storm is brining estimated rainfall of between 5mm to 16 mm per hour (moderate to intense) within its 600 km diameter.
"Labuyo" will also enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring light to moderate rains over southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, Pagasa said.
The storm, which is predicted to make landfall in northern Luzon, will be 70 km north of Virac, Catanduanes by Sunday afternoon.
