ARMM gov questions Nur's declaration of independence
COTABATO CITY – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Governor Mujiv Hataman said on Thursday that former ARMM Governor and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MNLF) founder Nur Misuari's declaration of independence is not a solution to the current situation in Mindanao.
Hataman questioned the motive of Misuari's declaration and wondered if this will bring change in the security of the island.
"Anong motibo, anong rason? Nag-declare siya, ano bang gagawin at anong plano niya?" asked Hataman.
According to Hataman, he is a hundred percent sure that state security forces are ready to face Misuari's declaration.
"Despite ng sacrifices ng aming ancestors, binigyan ng pagkakataon ng gobyerno, magsakripisyo at baguhin ang sitwasyon, pero ano ba ang ginawa nila?” Hataman added.
Hataman also questioned if the declaration of independence is the one needed by the people of Mindanao, especially the Bangsamoro people.
"Habang panahon nalang ba tayo magbabanta kung may gusto tayo na ‘di maibigay at ‘di makuha? At idaan sa expense ng mga inosente mapa-Muslim man o Kristyano?" said Hataman.
Hataman’s statement is a reaction to Misuari's declaration of independence during a recent gathering by the separatist group in Talipao, Sulu.
