Red alert raised over La Mesa Dam
MANILA (UPDATE) - La Mesa Dam in Quezon City was placed on red alert early Monday as it neared spilling level.
According to PAGASA hydrologist Eva de Paz, the water level at La Mesa Dam was at 79.61 as of 2 a.m. or 0.64 meters short its spilling level of 80.15 meters.
Residents living along Tullahan river were urged to evacuate.
Meanwhile, Magat dam in Isabela province continued to release water with one of is gates opened by two meters.
As of 2 a.m., Magat dam's water level was at 191.39, or 1.61 meters short of its spilling level of 193 meters.
Ipo Dam in Bulacan also opened one gate at 0.5 meters as its water level reached 100.31 meters as of 12 midnight.
In its 6 a.m. Sunday update, PAGASA said that Ambuklao and Binga dams already opened four gates each.
