Rebels kill 8 cops, village exec in Samar
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Suspected Communist rebels killed 8 policemen in an ambush after shooting a barangay official dead in Catarman, Northern Samar on Saturday.
Chief Superintendent Arnold Revilla, Eastern Visayas regional police director, said suspected New People’s Army (NPA) guerillas murdered Rolando de Guia, a councilman of Barangay Imelda, in his house around 5:30 a.m..
Revillla said members of the Catarman Police Station, led by its deputy chief, Senior Inspector Necasio San Antonio, were dispatched to the area to investigate.
As San Antonio’s team was approaching De Guia’s house around 8:30 a.m., they were ambushed by the rebels.
Revilla said rebels initially set off a roadside bomb, hitting the policemen’s Toyota Hilux patrol car. After the explosion, the rebels fired at the policemen.
Eight policemen, including San Antonio, died on the spot.
The regional police director said the rebels escaped with the policemen’s firearms.

Where are the noisy people at CHR
hey CHR police was over killed their car was blown out by landmine and while they are burning NPA still firng on those burning cops.. Where are those noisy Human rights. advocate..tsk,tsk CHR for criminals and Red human rights.. So if police died there is no human rights. if criminals and NPA died there is a HUMAN right. See the difference I doubt even congress and senate will be silent on this issue. But if it is criminal senate will create senate hearing ha,ha,ha only in the philippines.
