Habagat continues to dump rains over Luzon
MANILA – State weather bureau PAGASA on Thursday said the southwest monsoon (habagat) continues to affect Luzon.
In its 24-hour weather forecast for Thursday, PAGASA said monsoon rains are expected over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Ilocos and Cordillera regions.
Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Palawan, Bicol region and the Visayas will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
In an advisory issued at 7:30 a.m., PAGASA also raised a yellow rainfall alert over Metro Manila and several areas.
Under the yellow rainfall advisory, a 7 to 15 mm of rain was observed and is expected to continue in the 3 hours. Monitoring of the situation is recommended.
PAGASA said the heavy to intense rainfall affecting Bataan and portions of Pampanga, Bulacan and Zambales are most likely to continue in the next 3 hours.
"Moderate to heavy" rainfall is expected over Camanava, Manila, Pasay and Quezon City in the next 3 hours.
