COTABATO CITY - Cotabato Archbishop Orlando Cardinal Quevedo sees no problem in making little changes in the wording of the Constitution to pave the way for some of the provisions of the Bangsamoro Basic Law.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Quevedo said he hopes the Congress will have an open mind on the matter.

"A little change in the wording of the Constitution might provide that opening, clearly allowing that in any of the like for instance in Cordillera and here," he said.

However, he said he is against Charter change if this has something to do with the extension of the President's term.

"I hope this is not about term extension that the changes in the Constitution will have to do something about that for the sake of peace in Mindanao and for the development, economic development of the country," Quevedo said.

He noted that this also happened during the time of former President Joseph Estrada when he appointed a working group to look at the Constitution to find out what improvement can be done to open up the economy for enhanced and intensive development.
