LPA off Dinagat now tropical depression 'Nando'
MANILA – The low pressure area (LPA) east of Dinagat Islands has developed into a tropical depression and was named “Nando,” weather bureau PAGASA said.
As of 10 a.m. Sunday, PAGASA said Nando was spotted at 290 kilometers east of Borongan City. It is packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center while moving north northwest at 13 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA did not raise any public storm warning signals. However, it urged the public and the disaster coordinating councils to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued at 11 p.m.
In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said Eastern Visayas as well as Caraga should brace for moderate to heavy rains, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Meanwhile, those in Metro Manila, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon, the Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, the rest of Visayas and Mindanao can expect light to moderate rains.
The rest of Luzon will only have isolated rain showers.
