Cops nab 2 suspected Abu Sayyaf members in Zamboanga

MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested 2 suspected Abu Sayyaf Group members in Zamboanga City, Wednesday afternoon.

Chief Superintendent Edwin Corvera, Zamboanga Peninsula regional police director, identified the suspected bandits as Jhon Buhari Jamiri and Adjik Halik.

Corvera said the suspects were arrested at Villa Margarita in Barangay San Roque, Zamboanga City around 4 p.m..

The regional police chief said Jamiri has a warrant of arrest for multiple murder and frustrated murder while Halik is facing a kidnapping and serious illegal detention case.

He said Jamiri has a P600,000 reward on his head while Halik has P350,000.

Corvera said the suspects have been brought to the regional police camp in Zamboanga City for interrogation. -- With a report from Noel Alamar, radio dzMM
