MANILA, Philippines - The driver of a bus involved in Sunday’s accident in Quezon province claimed Tuesday that the CUL Transport bus company has been refusing to help him.

“Bata pa ang mga anak namin. Mahihinto sila sa pag-aaral niyan. Tinatawagan ko, ayaw na nilang panagutan ang kalagayan ko,” Oscar Pedrigosa, driver of the CUL Transport bus that fell into a ravine in Pagbilao, Quezon early Sunday.

Five people died and more than 40 others, including Pedrigosa, were hurt in the accident.

On Tuesday, Pedrigosa was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and multiple physical injuries.

Also on Tuesday, the bodies of the 5 fatalities in the bus accident were loaded into a delivery truck and brought to the domestic airport in Pasay City.

The bodies were supposed to be loaded to a truck brought in by the CUL Transport bus company. The truck, however, was too small to carry the 5 caskets.

The bus company, meanwhile, is also facing charges for expired franchise and certificate of public conveyance. – report from Ernie Manio, ABS-CBN Southern Tagalog
